The museum is arranged as a chronological journey through British royal history, told through authentic memorabilia and commemorative pieces. Visitors can follow the story from the Victorian era, through the Edwardian period, two World Wars, the post-war years, and into the modern reigns of Elizabeth II and King Charles III.
Displays include coronation items, royal wedding souvenirs, jubilee celebrations, official programmes, flags, scarves, collectibles, and many rare pieces that are increasingly difficult to find today. Each section includes short, clear labels designed to give context and meaning, even for visitors who are not royal historians.
The collection is constantly evolving. New donations and newly sourced items may be added over time, making each visit slightly different. Whether you are a lifelong royal enthusiast or simply curious, the museum offers a calm, respectful space to explore heritage, symbolism, and tradition.

The Crown Heritage Museum is operated by the Crown Heritage Foundation. Our mission is to preserve, present, and promote appreciation of British royal heritage through carefully curated displays, public access, and educational interpretation that makes the collection meaningful to both dedicated enthusiasts and first-time visitors.
The museum welcomes visitors from Malta and abroad. Entry is free, and voluntary donations help support preservation materials, display improvements, research, and the ongoing care and expansion of the collection. The museum also welcomes donations of memorabilia that can help enrich the story told through its exhibits.
A central part of the museum’s purpose is to highlight the historical and cultural connection between Britain and Malta. Through royal memorabilia, commemorative objects, and interpretive displays, the collection reflects not only the story of the British monarchy itself, but also the way royal events, traditions, and public life have been experienced, remembered, and valued in Malta across generations.
The aim is not to present the museum as a shrine to the monarchy or as an attempt to remain fixed in the past. Rather, it is a commitment to preserving an important part of our national story so that future generations can better understand the people, events, symbols, and relationships that helped shape Malta’s history and identity.
In this way, the museum serves as both a specialist collection and a local cultural space: a place where visitors can explore royal history, recognise Malta’s own ties to that heritage, sign the visitors book, and enjoy a warm, welcoming visit with complimentary tea, coffee, and refreshments.
The Crown Heritage Museum was officially inaugurated on Friday 20th March 2026 in Żurrieq. The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Her Excellency Mrs Victoria Busby OBE, UK High Commissioner to Malta, together with Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic community, cultural institutions, and distinguished guests.
The opening exceeded all expectations, with a turnout of over 200 visitors and extensive coverage across local media and television. The event included opening addresses, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, and guided tours of the museum’s collection.
This marked the beginning of a new cultural initiative aimed at preserving and presenting British royal heritage and its historical connections with Malta, while also serving as an educational and cultural space for the local community.
Entry to the museum is free. Donations of memorabilia or monetary contributions are appreciated and help support the continued preservation, presentation, and growth of the collection.
A visitors book is available for guests who would like to leave a note, and complimentary tea, coffee, and refreshments are also available during visits.

Behind the museum is Mr. Jerome Farrugia, a Maltese royalist and lifelong collector whose fascination with British royal memorabilia gradually grew into a deeply personal mission. Over the years, he has patiently sourced, preserved, and catalogued items that capture not only major royal occasions, but also the human stories, symbolism, and public emotion that surrounded them.
Long before the museum officially opened in March 2026, Jerome was already sharing parts of the collection with the public in Malta. What began as a private passion slowly became something much larger: a cultural project shaped by care, persistence, and a sincere desire to make this history visible, accessible, and meaningful to others.
Coverage surrounding the opening presented Jerome as a young enthusiast who transformed personal dedication into a public museum experience. The collection has also received public recognition for its breadth, including local reporting on Malta Records recognition connected with the scale of the British royal memorabilia assembled under his care. That recognition reflects not only the number of pieces involved, but the years of commitment behind them.
For Jerome, the purpose has never been simply to collect objects. It has been to preserve memory: to show how royal events were seen, marked, and remembered in Malta, and to highlight the historical and emotional ties that many Maltese families still recognise, especially in relation to Queen Elizabeth II and Malta’s place within that shared story.
His aim is to offer visitors a warm, respectful, and thoughtful museum experience, while ensuring that this strand of historical memory is not forgotten, but carried forward for future generations in a way that remains accessible, human, and deeply meaningful.
